Jaguar XF (2008 - 2015)
3.0 S Diesel Premium Luxury
Not as good as everyone thinks
Compared to other cars I own it is let down by poor build quality and appalling main dealer back-up.
Pros: Speed of this 'S' model, handling, reversing camera, image (i.e. people let you out at junctions), the way the interior lights switch on, keyless entry is very good, quite fun to drive, looks good.
Cons: Dealer, Jaguar Customer Service, fuel economy, poorly designed software, poor build quality (wobbly door handles), key remotes are cheap and plastic, a touch of the remote will open the boot, road noise, terrible headlights, rain from wipers collects on drivers door window obscuring the mirror, mirrors don't heat well, front windscreen heating isn't great, very annoying white boxes appear when adjusting the volume or channel on radio, rain sensor wipers useless in town, fuel baffles in tank even after retrofit don't work well causing banging sound, auto brake hold is poor and jerky, electric windows develop fault, passenger sensor on seats intermittently faulty, heated seats are only heated in the central bits not at the front, high CO2 emissions
I think the rave reviews about this car a mainly because of the image and because the reviewers can't have driven a better car for long.
The main dealer was absolutely terrible which didn't help with problems during warranty. Overall it's overpriced for a fun but not particularly well designed or well built car. Software so clunky and poorly thought out compared to German cars.
