Jaguar XE (2015 on)
Saloon 2.0D 163ps Portfolio 4dr
Stylish fast enough comfortable and great economy
I do a significant amount of mileage so wanted a car that was good looking but also good on fuel and reliability . With this, the manual diesel engine on motorway runs the car device shows always above 60 mpg and the best I have had is 83. Even allowing for some error that's still not bad. The Portfolio edition i own is very well equipped indeed with heated seats throughout and cool vented front seats plus an array of numerous driver aid cameras and sensors, sunroof, Meridian sound system and more. The overtaking warnings in the door mirrors being useful especially when reversing. I find the on screen menu quite simple and there are some steering wheel mounted controls also. Driving comfort is good, though for larger passengers it's slightly cramped in the rear, and boot space is not great though I have the model with rear fold down seats but then you lose rear seating.
Great economy means a lack of acceleration at lower speeds but once moving performance and acceleration are fine with the odd gear change
