A great car with a few frustrations

I like this car but there are a few shortcomings. The paint seems very poor it permanently marking after a short exposure to bird droppings and some areas suffering from an orange peel finish. Why folding mirrors and fold down back seats are not standard is a mystery to me. The lane departure wiggle via the steering wheel is useless compared to the bleep on my previous XC60. The instrumentation (now corrected on newer models) is a design triumph. You can have either speed sign recognition or water temp gauge but not both. There have also been a number of sub bonnet rattles which is annoying to say the least. On the plus side it drives and performs well even for the lowest powered model with good fuel consumption ( I run on premium diesel) and £20 fed. The inside is well designed although I agree with other reviews which highlighted some cheapish plastics. I only do low mileage so I think I should have bought petrol version.
