Much better than it looks!

I’ve always recommended a Jazz to anyone who wanted a sensible car, having now owned a new one for 2000 miles, I can elaborate on its other virtues. The first impression you have is how much of an improvement over the previous model it is inside (much more of a premium feel), with good use of different materials. Infotainment is a big improvement over the previous Jazz with (totally reliable) wireless CarPlay. Comfortable seats available in two different colours with a cloth “leather” mix. Yes it has the magic seats everyone always talks about but in day-to-day use it’s the sheer space of the rear which impresses most (I’m 6 ft 3 and can sit behind myself). Drives much better than a Sport 1.5 CVT which I found to be unpleasantly loud under anything but gentle acceleration. Hilarious turn of speed with electric motor assistance (try it, it’s strikingly fast for a car of this nature). Generally driven in ‘B’ all the time which suits my driving style as you can be light on the throttle and brake less. 70 mpg without trying, better in town than on the motorway but generally incredibly efficient. So much about this car to love and so little to criticise. The lane keeping assist is overly intrusive but has a big cancel switch to the right of the steering wheel. The reversing camera is also not very good but better than not having one. The rear doors are tinny but presumably this reduces weight. Main hurdle to get over is whether you can live with the looks/image…again an improvement on the previous Jazz but such a shame Honda can’t sprinkle some Honda E magic here. Otherwise it does everything you could ever want it to.
