It's OK But Over Hyped

I had to reject the first car and exchange it for another one within the 30 day entitlement provision, irritatingly forced to compromise on colour choice in the vexing process. So much for Honda's reputation for excellent build quality... huh! An indelibly memorable shock from which I'm unlikely to recover. It's tather like being told that The Rock of Gibraltar has been dynamited. The problem was an unacceptably creaking cabin - grrrrrrrrrrr.

Now that I've got things sorted - the dealer was wholly empathetic and couldn't have been more helpful - it's early days so I can only report first impressions. As someone with a hopeless sense of direction I find the satnav device in all ways a thousand times superior to the decidedly lacklustre setup in the px Renault Clio E-tech. I note that many professional reviewers of the Jazz criticised what they opine is a somewhat poor ride quality around town. I disagree. It's fine and whilst I wouldnt call it tiptop, again, better in my view than its French counterpart (16" v 17" wheels respectively). Two mega annoying factors: firstly that utterly infuriating and unremovable bing-bong chime that 'greets' you the moment you enter the car and, secondly, the nuisance of having to deactivate the lane departure assistance feature each and every time ater startup, not wishing to avail myself of its dubious 'advantages'. As for the vehicle's general abilities I refer back to my headline comment. In short it's nothing to crow about but it's competent enough and likely to be reliable. Regrettably and or all the dealer's exemplary conduct in helping to resolve the issue surrounding the above-mentioned defect, my feeling about the car will forever be tainted by the staggering 'experience' of needing to ditch the first beast and replace it with a second. Black mark, Honda, lingering black mark and image plunge...
