Even better than the older model

We ran a 13-reg model for 3 years, a cracking car which I always thought was vastly under-rated by the car-buying public.
My wife wants to do longer trips on her own so really wanted hands-free and satnav, We thought about other cars, but for the first time ever we decided to buy the same again, and found an ex-demo SE Navi 17-reg car at a very good price with only 500 miles on the clock.
We've run it now for a couple of months and I am hugely impressed with it, and with the improvements over the previous model. The addition of a 6th gear is the best bit, the car now feels settled at 70mph where before it really wanted to be driven at 60 - it started to feel a bit fussed at 70. The new engine revs eagerly - it seems to have less torque at low revs than the old one, although I must admit that seems to be improving as the engine gets run in. Overall noise level is noticeably quieter. Engine is inaudible on tickover. Nice effortless gear change.
Handling is noticeably better than the older car, feels more assured if you chuck it round corners (which of course we never do). Fuel consumption overall is currently 48.2, this is steadily improving as it did on our previous Jazz, which ended up up going 50-51mpg overall when it was fully run in.
This one even has a fancy factory extra, the word 'Jazz' in the front-door thresholds lights up in purple, also purple downlghters in the front footwells as you get in after dark. Oooh me oh my.
We are delighted with the new one and very pleased that we changed.
