Honda CR-V (2012 - 2018)
1.6i DTEC SE NAV Auto 4WD 5dr SUV
Quite a few disappointing points which spoil this car.
Have done about 1500 miles so far and I am finding quite a few annoying features which spoil the car for me. Worst is the brakes which make a graunching sound at very slow start, stop speeds. Probably affecting automatic models with the inherent creeping against brake pads. Dealer admits noise on this and some other Honda models, but Honda Technical say it's not a fault it's a 'characteristic' of all modern cars due to current brake materials regulations ! Well that's not my experience with other late model cars from other manufacturers. Agree with other reviewer about seat materials not great and on this SE model no passenger seat height adjustment ie penny pinching. Poor quality plastics to lower cabin and plastic along sides of car into door wells make a real hollow sound if you knock them. Agree also that controls are not intuitive at all and it's impossible to operate many of the controls/ buttons/ touch screen without taking your eyes of the road. Makes me wonder how the car was given production clearance. I think I must have been influenced to buy this car by the decent engine/ nine speed auto which is pretty good to drive, has a turn of speed when required, handles ok for tall 4wheel drive vehicle. Fairly quiet except for road noise whichseems to be pretty common these days. Suspension could be better as not that absorbent on poor surfaces. Plenty of room for passengers (rear seats very firm) and luggage. Overall 42 mpg mainly on local roads and shortish journeys. Have obtained 54mpg on easy going trip. So summing up look at other makes and models before spending £30k.
