Honda CR-V (2012 - 2018)
1.6iDTEC EX Auto 5dr SUV
Good comfortable, quiet car let down badly by the intelligent cruise control
I bought this car to replace my Lexus RX 450 h, it is quiet, comfortable and very roomy, the fuel economy is not as good as I would have expected, I get 40 mpg compared to the Lexus's 32 mpg, driven I have to say at similar speeds. The car is very good let down somewhat by the intelligent advanced cruise control, this does have a mind of its own, I use it only on motorways or dual carriageways, it can be frustrating at best, dangerous at worst, I have been alongside a lorry and it has applied the brakes pretty hard, then before you have time to think, it accelerates hard, back to its set speed. Honda also have problems with the touch screen, it sometimes doesn't boot up, then it freezes, the fix is to disconnect the battery, leave it 30 minutes and reconnect, if that doesn't work replace the unit, which at some time will do the same thing.
Don't get me wrong this is a good car, in fact a very good car, just stay away from the "Sensing Pack", this has the i-ACC, and all will be well, or it has for me.
