Honda Civic (2012 - 2017)
2.2 i-DTEC EX 5dr Hatchback
Comfortable, economic with oomph
Background - this is only my second car had a jazz for 5 years. Also driven a mondo and tried out new focus
Absolutely delighted with this car. Extremely comfortable interior. Plenty of space for kids in back and packing the boot. Magic seats absolutely brilliant and create more flexibility and additional space to the boot. All the gadgets really enhance the drive, on board satnav excellent and the Bluetooth works well with my iPhone. The central storage is ample. I am 6ft and everything is in the right place and I don't bang or hit anything when driving. Getting in and out took a little getting used to as it is a low ride, but I no longer notice it. Hand brake as with many new models is kind of on the passenger side which is annoying as you often brush against your passengers leg when using it if they are bigger than normal.
In terms of drive it has all the power you could want but amazingly is incredible efficient. At present I am getting 48mpg out of in with regular driving (mainly work during rush hour and a couple of 50mile round journeys each week). My wife gets nearer 43mpg so it does depend how you drive. On the motorway it gets into the 60s if cruising.
Very very pleased with car I tried a focus to see what all the fuss was about but after getting behind the civic there was no comparison for me. But then I am no boy racer so maybe I am missing something.
