Ford Mondeo Estate (2007 - 2015)
2.0i Zetec (140) Estate
Lovely Car Turning into a Money Pit
I bought this vehicle after the turbo blew on my Peugeot 407 estate (most expensive vehicle to run that I've owned in over 40 years of driving). Its a lovely looking car finished in panther black with privacy glass and whale tail spoiler. Its been a delight to drive very comfortable smooth acceleration and quiet to drive. I bought it as a one owner vehicle from new with stamped Ford main dealer service history from new. Sadly it has not been without its issues and is rapidly becoming a bit of a money pit to keep on the road. On Christmas Day morning a drive pulley went. A few days later the local Ford main dealer who I have always taken the vehicle to for servicing, MOT, and repair informed me the dual mass flywheel was on its way out and needed replacing. A few weeks previously I'd spent £963 getting the vehicle serviced and through its MOT.
I love my car but staring to feel the love isn't mutual and beginning to feel it's time to end the relationship ! Would I buy another Mondeo ? I'd certainly not rule it out though I'm feeling somewhat let down by a car that has been properly serviced and repaired by Ford main dealer from new suffering constant repair bills to the point where it has become uneconomical to keep it going.
