Ford Focus (2018 on)
1.5 titanium estate
Major electrical problems spoil a lovely car
The new Focus estate is a great car to drive and I've been really enjoying it until, after a couple of months a series of electrical faults linked to the sync3 system have occurred. Apparently lots of people experiencing various problems and a software update is planned - but no guarantee that will fix it. I've told my dealer I will reject the car if they can't sort the issues. Biggest problem is the sync system ie radio, satnav, phone suddenly freezes and cant be used. Have to switch off and leave the car for half an hour and it resets. Also... start/stop stopped working, random warnings come up on screen, lane assist system says it's on but doesn't work. On top of that I've had a suspension rod fail after 1500 miles.
Also heard of collision assist activating without reason and electric windows not working properly.
Dealer reports that lots of customers are having electrical / sync3 problems with the new Focus. Of course they won't tell you that before you buy so my advice is to avoid the new Focus until they sort out the electrical problems.
