Expensive but simply Outstanding

I bought an ST-2 in October and agree with every word of the HJ main review and stand by my comments made when I reviewed my car in October.....so why the change?
My main Ford dealer had a 3dr ST Performance Edition on display in the showroom when I took my ST-2 in for a courtesy 1500 mile checkover and I was instantly hooked by the appearance and spec of this limited Edition model .
Having read about the announcement of this model months ago and drooling over magazine and YouTube reviews I was resigned to the fact that they would all be sold out by December....clearly not so.
The updated spec over a standard ST-3 are LED headlights, lightened v attractive 10 spoke alloys, lowered suspension utilising Ford coilovers, this takes the car to an eye watering £26500 BUT it's worth it
The playfulness and joy of driving the oh so fun Fiesta ST remains but the suspension and weight saving transform the ride roadholding and cornering ability into the next class up.
A Fiesta ST is more fun than a Golf Gti, Honda Civic Type R, Hyundai i30N and yes even the new Focus ST, but I maintain that the Performance Edition mods to the suspension + wheels have catapulted the car into the same segment (apart from space inside) for drivers without the need for regular rear seat passengers and their luggage an ST is more than adequate.
The very characterful engine is still a surprise to me with it's ready power and torque.
In summary without going completely overboard.....it's brilliant + very well worth the extra £
