Citroen C4 Picasso (2007 - 2013)
1.6 HDi VTR+ 5dr
a brilliant car, can only be bettered by a proper automatic transmission
I bought it as an ex Motability car from Evans Halshaw Rotherham at 3 years old with 37,500 miles on the clock. It was advertised in the Sheffield branch, but Rotherham gave me a better deal, and so they got the sale.
I have never been let down by my Picasso, it has always passed its MOT's, and is easy to drive.
The only time the advisory was questioned was when they didn't understand how the electric handbrake works. I explained it to them and it passed, but the detail had already been logged, that it sc***ed through. The brakes never had any work done and it passed every test since then. Some years later, before its last test I fitted new rear pads (£15), and it passed the test again with no issues. That, and the new tyres, front pads and a new battery due to Covid inactivity, is all I have spent on this car in over 10 years, regular servicing aside.
I am looking for a newer Picasso with EAT6 gearbox, as having test driven one I want one.
The EGS is ok but the EAT has a smoother take up of power, the changes are then no different. My car is smooth and changes gear perfectly every time, some don't.
The next question is, Would you recommend this car to a friend? the answer is, yes, this car, but not all Picasso auto's, some I read are jerky and don't change gear well.
Choose your car carefully, and test drive as many as you can to compare.
