Citroen C3 (2002 - 2010)
1.4i Desire 5dr Hatchback
Correcting some of the wrongs of my previous review
I was overly harsh in my last review and have fallen back in love with this french fancy after 2 more years ownership.
The car is currently on 108k and I use daily for an 80 mile commute.
The car has past its last 2 MOTs no problem and continues to be a solid performer, the car doesnt like the wet and cold, it sometimes dims the lights and cuts off the radio but it keeps driving and hasn't let me down since the injector went in 2012. The mysterious electrical issue goes away as soon as it comes!
Yes the interior trim in cheap, yes it does eat suspension components when driven hard over speed bumps! and yes it has a few rust spots, but the engine is still purring like a sowing machine, the only electronics to actually break are the cd autochanger and reverse light switch.
I spend 1.5 hours a day in this car and its comfortable and a doddle to drive. I would have no hesitation recommending as a small family car or cheapo commutor car.
The car is hugely practical and has bags of idiosyncratic character unlike others of this vintage. My 3yr old chooses this to travel in over my mazda 6 every time, I think he gets a better view out of the back!
best of all, drive her gently and the 1.4 petrol gives 45+ mpg on dual carriageway commute, what more could you ask.
