Citroen C1 (2005 - 2014)
VTR+ 1.0i 3dr Hatchback
Overall a very practical small car
I bought this car for my wife to do her mainly local shopping, although on two occasions we have driven a round trip of well over two hundred miles and with the rear seats down was surprised by the volume of the load area.
From where I first purchased the car, the drive home was over 100 miles in a variety of road conditions which proved useful in assessing the performance. For the size of the engine I found the car very responsive, although careful planning needed to be exercised when overtaking at higher speeds as it takes sometime to build up speed.
I found the interior to be quite basic which really suits my wife. i.e. no buttons on and around the steering wheel, conventional handbrake, electric windows stop when you release the button, easy to read dashboard and controls. Also there appeared to be more legroom for rear seat passengers that the Fiat 500.
One problem I had was that the clutch pedal came right up to its maximum position before the clutch engaged. I had to use a lever to prize the arm on top of the clutch housing back in order to adjust the clutch cable, not easy in a very confined space. I now have around 3/4" play on the clutch pedal.
