Citroen C1 (2005 - 2014)
1.0i VTR 3dr Hatchback
Economical, fun, some visibility issues
I really enjoy driving my C1 which I bought after my faithful 12 year old Corsa Colin finally conked out. It isn't nearly as small as it looks - my 6ft+ partner says there is actually more space in the front passenger seat than the Corsa. (Nobody has ever sat in the back though!) The boot is fine for shopping and once the back seat folds there's plenty of room if you need to transport something bigger. My driving is mainly a 30 mile daily motorway commute plus local trips, though I have done some longer journeys in it. It can get blown about a bit on the motorway in windy weather. It is very economical and easy to drive.
Downsides? I find the windscreen wipers inadequate, especially the rear one which doesn't have the reach or the oomph to clear the back windscreen properly, and this can make visibility especially at night in the rain quite tricky. I also find that not being able to open the passenger window from the driver's seat (no electric button like on the Corsa, and I can't reach!) quite difficult - it often steams up in cold weather and I can't see to turn out onto the main road. It'd be nice to have a light in the boot too.
