The best car I've had

The only small problem I've had during my first year of ownership was with the nearside run flat developing a small bulge after bouncing through all the potholes in my local country lanes. After some research online, I discovered that even with fitting, wheel balancing and alignment etc, BMW gave the best deal. I plan to fit steel wheels and non RF tyres if we have a cold winter; and then swop them back next spring. But tyres and alloys have lasted well, >25K miles.

My experience with local dealerships has been variable - there are 3 near where I live - the closest is fairly poor but thankfully the other 2 are better, if further to get to.

My version includes the variable damping (it's an ex showroom car, so came with all the bells and whistles), parking cameras and so on. I use idrive to get the suspension and handling set up just as I like it. I'd have preferred the 535d MSport (or better still, the new M5!) but budgets didn't allow. I've had Trackstar fitted, which has been great for the insurance; and am thinking of an in car camera too, as I drive >3000 miles/ month.

BMW now sell accessories on eBay at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/BMW-Direct-Store which is a MUCH quicker way to get things rather than through slow local dealers.
