Audi A6 (2004 - 2011)
3.0 TDI quattro S line tiptronic 4dr Auto Avant
Great Car, Miserable Electronics
Bought the A6. Fantastically comfortable, great looking superbly capable motorway cruiser and family estate. Full Audi history with 80000 miles, great spec, S Line styling.
I had two weeks of motoring bliss and then...
I noticed the car filled the road with smoke at idle. Fault was traced to faulty injectors. As the car had full Audi service history I took it to Audi to try to get some form of goodwill. After 4 weeks of procrastination from Audi and having been stopped by the police for the amount of smoke coming from the car I booked it into a garage the get the work done for over £2000.00.
A week later Audi offered 75% goodwill which they now refuse to pay because the repair was done outside the dealer network. Hows that for vorsprung durch customer service.
Since then the two motorised flaps in the intake system have failed which cost a further £1050.00, the climate control blows hot air out of the drivers side only, the rear wiper has siezed, the electric front drivers seat has wound itself fully forward on it's own and burnt out the motor so you cannot get into the car. the hydraulic camshaft chain tensioner has packed up so the chain rattles when the car is hot (you have to take the engine out to change this) and there is water ingress in the rear of the car which no one can find.
I have worked out that I will have to spend more on repairs over and above normal servicing to my current A6 that I have on all the other cars I have ever had combined.
All that glitters is not gold and Audi Customer Dis-service could not run away fast enough.
Cannot wait to sell it but I wonder if I ever will.
