Ford Mondeo - Clutch problems - Mark Wallace

I have a Ford Mondeo - diesel - 2009 reg and it has done 45,000 miles.

I was in a multi storey car park last night and a queue of traffice. This meant that I had to do a lot of start and stops - gear changes - starting on a slop etc.

when I got to the bottom of the car park - there was a burning smell and the clutch pedal refushed to lify any further then half way!!

I eventually managed to lift it back up - and get out of the car park - but it kept sticking.

the car then stalled - stopped, and I could not restart the car.

It is one of the push to start button cars - the dash kept saying - press clutch pedal to start - which of course I was doing.

I managed to push car out of quue - tried every five minuties - and after half an hour car sprang back into life.

Any ideas as to what happened? And have I done any damaage to the car? Should I have my garage check the car out?

Possibly simply overheated the clutch or mechanism causing it to stick.

So long as its working OK now i wouldn't worry too much so long as there's no signs of vibration or juddering or sounds that weren't there before.
