Replacement Key - Carl2
I know there are lots of threads on this subject but so far I can`t find them. I need a replacement key for an Astra 1.6 8v 2002. Spare key works no problem. Batteries to both keys were replaced 1 month ago. Do I have to leave car at the dealer or just take in both keys. Is main dealer the best option ( I do have a friend that works for the main dealer. Its only just happened so have not had a chance to ask them).

What exactly is up with the other key?
Is it that the remote fob no longer works? In which case have you tried re-syncronising to the car? Key in igntion, turn till you get the dash lights, then press the fob buttons. The C/L will trigger if successful.
Is it not turning off the immobiliser? Did the transponder chip fall out when the batteries were being changed?

If the key does require replacing you'll need to present the Pass Card (has all the code details for the car on it) to the dealer.

As you have one working fob, I *think* Timpsons can cut and programme another key for you.
