Jaguar XF - Jaguar XF - Power loss at slow speed - limp mode - Jonathan Goad
For the last few weeks I've noticed I'm getting an occasional power loss when accelerating from low speeds in my jaguar xf diesel. The car feels like it's gone into limp mode. This lasts only for about 2-3 seconds then the cars is off like a shot. No warning lights appear on the dash. Other than this the car appears to function as normal i.e. normal power, no weird noises, no smoke etc.

Ive had the car in the garage twice with no issues being found but then it happens again. I do allot of long runs and only use premium fuel. It seems to be either the egr, turbo or somthing like that, however the car is not reporting any issues with them as there are no dash lights. Essentially, it feels like your trying to move off in a very high gear. This happens then it goes away and doesn’t seem to come back for a week or two.

I had the same problem, it will only get worse and more frequent, particularly after sitting at traffic lights or standing traffic, when this happens it is time to change your fuel filter, you will notice a huge difference in performance and fuel consumption. You can get a fuel filter for about £25 however I would bite the bullet and buy a genuine Jaguar one for about £50. Part number AJ811141.
Hope this helps, Regards Mark.

Perhaps (one of) the turbo actuator valve(s) needs looking at.
