Ford Focus 2002 1.6 Ghia - Knocking only when cold - Markb03

Hey all,

When cold and going over bumps my car has a louder noise then normal coming from the front. It seems to be less prominent when the car is warmed up (Not sure if linked) I can't seem to replicate the noise if I bounce the car however.

Any ideas? I am thinking the droplinks but I might be well off. The car can be going straight or turning to make this noise.

What can I do to test anything or to see if its my wild imagination or what else could it be?

Cheers all

Very likely to suspension drop links.Very common fault on Focus models. Parts are cheap, probably £30 pair ,or less.Fitting can be a bit of a pain as the securing nuts are usually all rusted up.

Bit of Plusgas to get them off then?

Once off is it ok to put a bit of copper grease on the bolts. Stop them rusting up again well seizing up.
