I had my Focus diesel serviced in March and the garage replaced the cambelt using a Gates kit. A tensioner failed early in May and the engine was damaged. The garage tells me there is an issue with these kits. Has anyone else heard anything.

Another question: how long should it take to rebuild the engine? Gates keep authorising small amounts of work and I still don't have the car. An "engineer" is coming from Belgium (or Germany - the story changes) to inspect it this week.
