When should I change the cambelt on a VW 1.5 TSI engine?
We own a VW Golf Mk7 1.5 TSI 2020. Please can you tell me how often the cambelt should be changed? I have had a bewildering array of answers to this from every 4 years/40K miles to never.

There is a great deal of confusion about this matter largely due to the fact that Volkswagen Group changed the interval for timing belts from five years to 140,000/150,000 miles or ten years with regular inspections. Although the most recent advice would likely mean your cambelt does not need changing, we would consider changing it earlier than this, particularly if you intend to keep the vehicle long term.
