Renault Captur - Arnold clark warranty - Toeknee

I've got a renault captur through the motility scheme at Arnold Clark. They have called today to say if I don't allow one of their team to pair my phone to the car it affects the warranty. Surely this can't be correct? What if I didn't have a smart phone? What they doing with my data?

Report them the Renault Customer Services and Trading Standards. They cannot force you to give them access to your phone.

You’re being lied to. Loads of people don’t even have a mobile or a smart phone, does this mean they don’t get a warranty when they buy a Renault? Arnold Clark are a terrible company to deal with these days.

Have a chat with Motability, after all they’re the owner of the car, and any repercussions around a lack of warranty cover would be felt by them.

If you don't have the urge to contest their strange request, you could just let them have a phone with a prepaid sim in it and bin the sim when you get the car back.
