Sorento 2006 auto 2.5 diesel. XE - Kia Sorento auto shift console (PRND) not lit - Craigh

The auto shift lever console (PRND) does not light up when the lights are turned on. The manual option of +/- used to light up on the + light but no more! Is this an easy fix as it looks to me like the entire central console with the cubby box needs to come out.

Any advice would be welcome.
