Ford Focus speedo problem
I have a 2000 Ford Focus 1.8.
When the engine has warmed up the speedo stops working for 5-20 miles, while the speedo isn't working the odometer and radio don't work properly and the engine loses power.
Also, when braking the engine cuts out when the clutch pedal is depressed. The symptoms listed only happen when the speedo stops, otherwise the car runs perfectly well.

The reason is usually failure of the oil seal between the final drive and the speed sensor. Costs about £100 to replace.
