Speedometer fault on Ford Focus - what's the cause?
I have a 2001 Ford Focus 1.8 petrol. The car has covered 71,000 miles and is suffering from a speedometer fault. The issue is intermittent and it will stop for a few miles then start working again. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

The gasket to the speed sensor fails allowing transmission oil into the sensor. A £120 job to put right.
