Do home electric car charging points affect property values?

Does the presence, or lack of it, of an electric car charging point have any impact on the saleability or price of properties? Secondly, do you think any such effect is likely to be felt soon given the large increase in electric car sales?

There is some evidence that having an electric vehicle charging point adds value to a property. Riverdale Leasing analysed the values of 1,000 homes across 50 UK areas in 2021and found 76 per cent of UK homes with an EV charger showed an increase in value, when compared to the local average. For the 38 out of 50 areas which saw a positive link between value and home charge points, the analysis showed an increase of £50,595, on average. Of the 50 areas surveyed, about a quarter (24 per cent) did not see a positive link between house prices with a charger installed and the local average.
