Can I use an extension lead with my EV charging cable?

I have just bought a second-hand low milage 2022 Vauxhall Mokka E and I live in an apartment on the ground floor at the back of the apartment block. I want to run an extension cable from my kitchen window to the parking space at the front of the apartment is about 15-20 meters, would this be a safe distance to run an extension cable, or how long would you suggest is a safe distance?

It is possible to charge an EV using an extension cable, but generally speaking this is not recommended as it can mean an increase in the risk of fire. If you do choose to use an extension cable you should ensure it is a heavy-duty item, with a minimum of 13 Amp rating and suitable for outdoor use. You should also ensure that the routing of the cable does not present a trip hazard for pedestrians or other road users.
