  a personal hand in the ill-fated buyout attempt of British Leyland in the late 70's. (Ford eventually got cold feet and pulled out.) What is poigniant for me personally is I met Alex Trotman at Ford World Headquaters in Dearbourn Michigan in 1996 albeit briefly. A genuine car guy and not a bean counter IMO

  Hopefully someone can save me some hassle as I want to have some idea that the garage isn't pulling a fast one. Just had the starter motor changed, now when I slow down and change down (mainly 3rd-2nd gear) I get s slight squeak as I lift my foot off the clutch. Cheers, Jon
