Ford Mondeo MK3 TDCi - 05 Plate - New starter motor fitted, now clutch squeaks - jon99

Hopefully someone can save me some hassle as I want to have some idea that the garage isn't pulling a fast one.

Just had the starter motor changed, now when I slow down and change down (mainly 3rd-2nd gear) I get s slight squeak as I lift my foot off the clutch.

Real mechanics forgive me if I have this wrong, but in a Mondeo there is a dual-mass flywheel, and as that ages little bits of metal dust come off it and clog the starter motor (do the magnets in the starter attract them?), which then needs replacing. If you've needed to replace the starter motor, chances are your DMF is getting a bit cack and this will affect the clutch.

Over £500.00 for a rough guide.
