Hi Lads Wife has 94 Fiesta 1.1 Goes a treat, but, she has problems on first start in mornings, fires up straight away with a little throttle, but will not idle until warmed up a bit, this of course is causing her to stall it on several occassions. Took it to a local Ford garage, they worked
  • Steering Play MK3 Fiesta 1991 20 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Hi all, I had an advisory on my recent MOT (Ford Fiesta XR2i 1.6 CVH H reg 1991) of play in the steering wheel and it is quite noticeable the steering wheel does 'rock' quite considerably but obviously not enough to fail test. I am now going to sort but am confused as to what needs replacing
  • How much can a Kangoo swallow? 7 Feb 2005 (Forum)
. Will it fit in a Renault Kangoo/Ford Connect van, along with a similar sized bookshelf and numerous boxes, or should I be looking at the next size up? Before anyone panics, I don't *think* I'll be driving it! Thanks
  • Aircon oddity - Scorpio 20 Dec 2004 (Forum)
on, press off and the light flashes together with a loud ticking, like the indicator noise. Naturally, neither the Ford manual or Haynes mention this. Since the last owner told me "the system needs recharging" (or is totally shot!?) I'm guessing it might be trying to tell me this but I would appreciate
  • Volvo S40 old model 26 Oct 2004 (Forum)
my voice when speaking. I drive a diesel every day and around town it has a gentle diesel thrum, but not so loud you can't hear people talking. The noise of the engine in this vehicle really suprised me and was reminisecent of my old Ford 1.8 diesel!
  • Timing Belt change....NOT 8 Sep 2004 (Forum)
on this particular engine. Also, as someone mentioned in the previous posts, Ford supposedly cover, or contribute to any premature faiures. No doubt I will be on here in a few months asking how to remove valves from the power steering resevoir!! Many thanks for all your help Adam
  • MOT Diesel Emissions Test 13 Aug 2004 (Forum)
When the diesel smoke test (revving the engine to full speed with no load)was first introduced, typical engines were Ford 1.6/1.8 idi and the Perkins Prima in the Maestro/Montego. Certainly, the Perkins units were known for being very smoky and could be tricky to get through the emissions test

  • Hybrid 2 & 4 stroke engine 6 Apr 2004 (Forum)
A company called Ricardo with backing from Ford have developed an engine that can alternate between 2 stroke functioning and 4 stroke. The engine (which is 1.4 litre capacity but has the output of a conventional 1.8) operates mainly in 4 stroke mode, but when greater power or torque is needed
  • '96 Fiesta diesel fuel pump 21 Jan 2004 (Forum)
to get to a Ford dealer to repair. Is this the only way to get it fixed as I hate to think how much it will cost together with towing it 20 miles! He also says to get a diagnostic man out to check it first but can that be done if the engine won't start?
  • Squeaky Focus 21 Jan 2004 (Forum)
of health, but also told me that this was a known problem with Fords and the air conditioning pump may need re-aligning. Has anyone else heard of this, or know what it involved? Frankly I don't think much of this car if every fanblet change requires all the associated equipment to be 'tuned'!! Its an '02
  • 'Fire Risk..' 24 Dec 2003 (Forum)
A gem from a recent edition of 'The Week', a news digest: 'Roger Bugg's Ford Escort was properly taxed, legally parked outside his ex-wife's house in Somerset and had new tyres. But when a traffic warden spotted that two windows had been left half-an-inch open, that was reason enough to have
  • Mondeo 1.8 TD (1998) 14 Nov 2003 (Forum)
of about £570 incl VAT !!! Apparently it has a slight leak and will not hold pressure and as it is a throw away unit it cannot be repaired. The car has been serviced always by Ford and has never had the A/C serviced? Yet now I was told it should be re-charged every two years. Any comments please

  • Peugeot 406 1996 Electric Windows 25 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Not being a Peugeot fount of knowledge (Ford’s my game mainly) I was wondering whether any of the fans of Gallic transport could help with this one: My father’s car has a problem where the drivers electric window on the one touch closure will go to the top then drop to half open
  • Mondeo TDCi 24 Sep 2003 (Forum)

  • feisty fiesta 18 Sep 2003 (Forum)
My student daughter runs a 1.1 pop plus to get to college etc. Its the H.C.S.engine weber carb model; and following a fuel leak which was causing uneven running, a problem still persists only at low revs. All the service items have been done and a local ford dealer has set up the mixture [replacing

panels in different colours) with 6,600 miles on the clock (!) and, to judge from the plate, direct from Volkswagen UK and A 00X Ford Falcon 4.0 Ute (car dervied pickup, about the size of an Omega) from Australia with 26k that looked like it had been worked quite hard. Amyone care to guess
  • 6 week wait 3 Jun 2003 (Forum)
in the past I've never waited more than a fortnight for delivery, granted they were all Fords ( 2 Pumas and a Focus) but 6 weeks sounds like a long time to me. As I say this is my first venture into the world of lease companies and the like. Any comments (apart from WHY a stilo)!!
