Mazda3 - MAZDA diesels DPF problems still 31 Jan 2012 (Forum)
as; the the ECU cycle was NOT reset at each oil change (10K). I have a valid reason for this, its because I did the oil changes myself, Mazda serviced the car at 40K, 60K 80K and 120K, the DPF blew after the 120K service (that service cost me $1300.00AU) at no point was I ever advised -

Astra mystery coolant leak 26 Jun 2005 (Forum)
. The timing belt was changed less than a month ago - could that have anything to do with it? In my opinion it's only recently got worse. What is causing me to panic slightly is that the coolant quite clearly has oil in it - I'm kind of hoping this is just oil it's picked up running down the side -

Ford Focus Xreg 1.6 Zetec - Thicker oil for old worn engines? 30 Jun 2017 (Forum)
Our almost worthless but excellent Focus will soon need an oil change at 125,000m. So far I have used a cheap semi-synthetic recommended 5-30 every 10-12,000m or so. It only does about 8,000m a year. However, it is now using around one litre every 5,000m -

Hi Folks, I think this is my first foray over from the 'Discussion' side. I have a Civic Aerodeck 1.8Vti that is now using a fair bit of oil. Assume its getting burnt as there is no leakage on the drive. It is using 1 ltr every 800-1k miles if I take it steady and dont use the higher rev range -
MG MG TF (2002 - 2005) - 03 1.6 Oil in the coolant 30 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I bought a MGTF from a Kia dealer, 1 owner 23k on a 53 plate and got them to change the cam belt and water pump as part of the deal. My wife does low mileage 800 in 2 months and I noticed some discolouration in the collant expansion bottle this weekend. If I put my finger through the fill cap -

MTF change - 99 Ford Focus 2 Oct 2006 (Forum)
OK, I have check the Haynes manual which says to use "transmission fluid to Ford spec. ESD-M2C 186-A" for the 2 litre, and 75/90 for the 1.4,1.6,1.8... and the valvoline lubricant advisor reckons SAE 75/90 gear oil for the 2 litre. Focus First Service 18 Jan 2004 (Forum)
The Focus is going for it's first service tomorrow. Following the advice on HJ's FAQ I asked them to change the gearbox oil. They said there isn't a drain plug, and that modern cars these days don't need that e.t.c Am I being lead astray here, or are they right? Anything else I should ask them -
Volkswagen Golf V (2004 - 2008) - 05 2.0 Poor gear-change 17 May 2009 (Forum)
temps, it's only 1-3 that are bad, and only on up-shifts, never down-shifts. What I've got used to doing is double de-clutching for the first 10 mins of driving to allow the gear oil to warm-up; this is hardly ideal on a car of this age, mileage and marque! The gear synchros were changed by VW 6 weeks
