The transport secretary announced in parliament today that the UK was slowing its expansion of bio-fuels policy because of the impact it is having on food prices. Now was I the only person that saw this coming - wasn't it obvious that if you introduce manadatory levels of such a thing -

My Renault Master van has been stood for about a year and won't start. I have by-passed the fuel solenoid and have fuel to the injectors (checked this by cracking the pipes), the engine turns over and exhaust smokes but no start. I have checked out google and it seems to suggest the glo-plugs -

How economical could a car be made 22 May 2008 (Forum)
Shortly after I started driving we had the mid-seventies fuel crisis. Some people in the group I socialised with got incredibly good fuel economy by modifying small cars with the BMC 'A' series engine, such as Minis, Minors and the odd A35. The basics seem to be a gas flowed head, small (was it 3 -

Driving in Cyprus - any experience? 14 Dec 2007 (Forum)
. Is the situation so bad??? From the net, hiring cost seems reasonable though. Also they have a weird system of providing car full tank of fuel and then expects you return them with as little fuel as possible! Fuel pumps there also shut down by 6 pm (and by 3 pm on weekends). PS: I've no intention of moving -
Toyota - Corolla 2005 Diesel Not Starting no fuel 11 Nov 2007 (Forum)
the bleeding button on the top of the fuel pump (for quite a while). Initially when I tried to start again the clicking was gone but the engine still didn't turn over. However after a delay the clicking started happening continuously. Anything I can try or am I going to have to get a mechanic to look at it. -

Corsa key barrel and codes 9 Jun 2007 (Forum)
my son has lost his keys and bought second-hand barrel and key. Turns engine fine but management light flashes and engine "runs " for only a second or two. Easy start or petrol straight into air intake runs only as long as it is there. No running on tank's fuel. Vauxhall wants a fortune to recode -

Can spark plugs improve fuel efficiency? 24 Jul 2006 (Forum)
etc - which have never affected fuel efficiency before) the only thing replaced were spark plugs. I kept the oil topped up anyway, so I was wondering if this reduced drinking habit could really have come from something as cheap to replace as spark plugs? -
Peugeot 106 1.1 Starting Problems 1 Jul 2006 (Forum)

MPG vs gms CO2 / km - why not equivalen 26 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Hi I've noticed that the mpg figure for vehicles and their grammes of CO2 per km are not linear. Ie one car that does 30 mpg may say produce 150 g/km whereas another that does 30 mpg may produce 175 g/km. Why? Surely if you burn the same amount of fuel per distance you produce the same amount -
Premium fuels and additives 11 Jan 2005 (Forum)
yesterday I though I detected a faint similarity in the odour from the BP Ult to that of neat Millers. Could it be that BP put similar Cetane enhancers in BP Ult to those used in Millers?, if so can the Cetane levels be too high?again if so perhaps additive should not be used with premium fuels? I am -
