-would this accur if the pulley was worn My other question is if i come across some injectors (if that is the cause) i know about matching part numbers on the top of the injector but would the ecu have any problems recognising the new injectors if i get a complete set of the same number? sorry

. However, I CAN drive old, basic diesels - MK1 mondeos are a firm favourite. However, as these are now hard to come by I'm wondering what the least complicated new-ish car might be - no ECU ETC. To be like this is very debilitating .... so, I thought it was worth a stab to pose the question on here

I took my son to football this evening, as i got back into the car to go home, the following warnings came up, "ASR and ESP Failure" "Passenger Airbag deactivated" and "Parking Brake failure"!!!!! I suspect a faulty ECU, i know the car is under warranty, but was wondering what the problem

  • 306 Dturbo diesel pump and immobiliser 26 Apr 2005 (Forum)
thought id try here. Will I need to swap the pumps over? surely the code is stored in the ECU and that then sends a signal to the fuel shut off valve in the pump? The pump on the new engine is slightly different in that it has a damper and a pipe leading to the oil filler, whereas the old one doesnt have
  • Alfa woes & Test of New GT 24 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Wed. before Xmas the clutch started slipping on my Alfa 156 JTD. Its was due a 96,000 service and for the airbag light to be investigated. Actually picked it up yesterday, clutch problem turned out to be a leaking rear seal, ECU was the problem for the airbag light. Clutch takes 7.7 hours
  • Servicing CD's -- are they useful? 18 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Previous postings have told of car maintenance CD's offered via eBay and one poster, at least, was satisfied with what was obtained. My experience was not so good. The 'factory Service/Repair manual' turned out to be pretty useless. It showed me where to plug in an ECU analyser, if I had one

workshop with the ECU being replaced, prior to this it was 3 days with various switches being replaced. The fix usually lasts about 2 weeks then guess what ? Yep the 10 amp fuse goes again, the main dealer has suggested I uprate the fuse to 15 amp to stop it blowing! I'm a bit reluctant as the fuse
  • Rover 600 Keyfobs 23 Apr 2003 (Forum)
key fobs otherwise they cannot program them! However they would gladly sell a key fob to me for £60 each and they would charge £60 to reprogram my keys and fobs. £180 seems like a lot of money as they couldn't guarantee that this would work, as they told me that I may also need a new ECU! The car
  • Cold start problems on Laguna 2-litre 1 Apr 2003 (Forum)
My father has a problem with cold starting on his Laguna estate, 2-litre 1996. It has been in the local Renault dealer for 4 weeks, and they have been singularly incapable of finding any faults. They have replaced the cat with no improvement, so put the old one back on. Ditto ECU. Ditto idle

  • FAILED EMISSIONS 11 Sep 2002 (Forum)
and then it seems to right itself. I have taken it to a Bosch specialist who plugged it into the computer for a couple of hours and said it might be an internal fuel leak he also said that the ECU would let him go so far in to its programme and then kick him out. Anyone out there with any suggestions I would
