Hoping someone might be able to advise.

I bought a Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.5 HDI adblu Feel plate 2015 back in Sept 2021 it had done 90000 but perfect for my needs.

Have had nox sensor replaced under warranty and now battery issues. Broken down twice not being able to start car. Taken to mechanic had 2 new batteries still happening . RAC breakdown mechanic diagnose alternator prob. Alternator (2 tried) replaced under warranty. Still not charging battery. Mechanic baffled? Before I take to a Citroen specialist has anyone had this problem . ECU remapping has been mentioned to solve problem??

Tempted to get another vehicle if this is going to be an unreliable car situation for me as run an emergency pets to vets service and breaking down with battery problems is not an option.

Any thoughts advice will be helpful and if anyone wants to recommend a reliable car Feel free ??

Have any voltage checks been carried out at the alternator output terminal and the battery to establish if there is a volt drop across the charging circuit? Where are the alternators supplied from? some aftermarket units do not work correctly on these vehicles.

Hi

I assuming my mechanic would have checked voltage he has tried everything the alternators have both been from Europarts.

Unfortunately alternators from Ecp are not top of the shop when it comes to quality. I think I would be looking for a different supplier.

Make sure that all the car and battery earths are checked. Easy for one of these to cause problems.
