This car is the older shape Focus. Mileage is 59K The exhaust rattles at tickover and is getting worse. The idle speed is 750rpm with a tiny bit of fluctuation. Recently it has had a genuine Ford(Fomoco) coil pack and leads. The complete exhaust is genuine and all hangers are there. I think -

The box just says "waterproof" - no mention of breathable My first thoughts are that the material just doesnt look breathable, and probably liable to lead to condensation which is prob worse than having no cover at all. the brand of cover is "Streetwise" - this isnt the suppliers name BTW. anyone any -
Vauxhall Vectra B facelift (1999 - 2002) - 02 plate 1.8 (Z18XE engine) replacing thermostat 1 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Hi all My 02 plate 1.8 vectra (Z18XE engine) takes an absolute age to warm up, and the top hose on the rad gets warm after only a couple of mins from cold, so this leads me to think the thermostat is stuck open. The thermostat housing is held on by what I believe are 2 torx bolts, my question -
KIA Pride (1991 - 2000) - '94, 1324cc, CV joint 1 Mar 2008 (Forum)
of this circlip, and does it matter that it's breaking up? I suppose if the other half gets in the balls it'll lead to early failure, but complete removal of the circlip? The joint's firmly held in the hub. There could be a bit of sliding movement in the driveshaft splines, but would it matter? -

FIAT Punto (1994 - 1999) - Injector warning lamp ON (1998 75SX) 20 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I have a problem with my 1998 Punto 75SX where the Injector warning lamp comes on and the engine appears to be just firing on two cylinders. I've checked out the ignition coils, leads and connectors and the spark plugs seem to be sparking OK. Unplugging the connectors from the ECU and spraying them -

got any idea as to why this might be the case? CD changer and cassette still work fine. I haven´t tried anything just yet (including resetting the unit). Could the ariel lead have fallen out the back, or something? Thought I would ask here first. Thanks in advance, Barchettaman -
Faulty ABS - MOT failure? 6 Jun 2007 (Forum)
The ABS sensors in my car (Hyundai Accent X-reg) have packed up. The dealer said it would need new sensors and new drive shafts leading to a whopping £700 bill. Since normal braking is fine, I don't want to fix it. But is it going to fail in MOT? There is a single red warning light on dash -
Mondeo 1.8lx (99) power loss 10 Mar 2007 (Forum)
. Just before the probs, we noticed a whistle when the accelerator was pressed (sounded like a turbo whistle). Dunno if that had any bearing on it. Could it just be plugs/leads/coil or something more serious? It only had it's MOT three weeks ago, though we know how useful those are! Any ideas out there? -

Mazda 323 Starting Problem 28 Dec 2006 (Forum)
is caused by damp which liberal application ofr WD40 should sort out. My question is: where should I be spraying WD40? Should I take the leads off the spark plugs and spray inside them, or simply spray everything on the outside. By the way, I'm clueless regarding everything under the bonnet, so please -
what do folks think about wide A pillars 10 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Hi, Recently been looking at a Zafira, and one of the negatives listed about the vehicle is the width of the A Pillars. Basically, blind spots that can potentially lead to accidents, particularly at roundabouts. Looking at most modern cars, this seems a problem that is fairly widespread -
Italian Tune Up 22 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I have read numerous recommendations for the Italian Tune up in posts on these forums. I must admit to not knowing what it meant so I have done some research which leads me to ask the question, whilst I would have no problems in red lining a petrol engine, I am very concerned to red line a common -

vehicles pulling caravans. Are we British in the minority here ? 3. If you wonder where all the Petrol stations have gone, you'll find them on the roads leading from Switzerland into France. 4. I have only ever seen two Renault Megane Estates - did they just not make many ? 5. er thats it, although I -
Insurance Claim Advice 20 Jul 2006 (Forum)
to stump up the excess (£400) when I pick it up, I hope to recover this because I have legal cover and I?m claiming it as uninsured losses. The big BUT is that the lorry driver is from a non-EU country (Romania) and I have been lead to believe that it will be nearly impossible to recover my money. Has -
Fiesta water leak 21 Jun 2006 (Forum)
, it's not clear whether the water is getting in at that point also, or just finding its way there from somewhere else. The car has been through a carwash recently and no water got in then, leading me to think that it's being thrown up from the back wheels and somehow getting in. The boot interior -
Astra DTI Camshaft seal leak 20 Jun 2006 (Forum)
again, ruining the new timing belt. When running it looks like the camshaft has some movement in it causing the seal to stretch and compress leading to leakage. Has anyone heard of this? Can you replace the cam bearings if they are knackered? Any help very gratefully recieved. Many Thanks, Stuart -
Thinking of selling up. But what next? 22 Feb 2006 (Forum)
consumption leads me onto my next point... The whole common rail '££££' scenario has left me feeling a little cautious. But what next? The 306 was to all intents my 'perfect' car. I'm a little out of ideas, so just throw some my way. Anything at all; I just wonder if I've missed anything.
