Stupid question 3 Dec 2002 (Forum)
My present car delivers (on paper) 144 ft/lbs of torque from 1905 cc. The Citroen C3 delivers 151 ft/lbs from only 1400 cc. ( I hope my figures are correct) Question. Are the ft/lbs the "same". In other words will it feel like more power or will it run out of urge on hills, for example, simply -
Zafira 2.2DTI 15 Nov 2002 (Forum)
The time is running out on the company lease on my Dad's A6 Avant 1.9TDI and we are looking at replacements. In consideration is buying the A6, as it will have mega miles for a 3 year old (100k) when the lease is up in June. However it will still not be cheap. However he is considering trying -
RapidFit 13 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Just got back from the Jennings Ford Rapid Fit at Durham. I went there to get a long running problem with my off-centre steering wheel fixed. They re-aligned the front wheels and have fixed my steering! :) :) :) What did they charge?............. Nothing! I asked how much and he said don't worry -

My daughters MR2 limited edition came with sporty 17" alloys and 205/45 tyres ALL NON STANDARD I agree with previous posts unless driven HARD (which she doesn't) all they will give her is a big ego and loose fillings. water vapour injection sysytems 16 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Ever notice how much smoother your car runs on misty or foggy days? Its because the air drawn into the intake is denser with the water particles in it (I think). I've checked the fuel consumption on my car(old model Mondeo diesel)on days like this, and it is slightly better than on 'normal' days -
Audi A6 Avant v BMW 5 Series Touring 15 Aug 2002 (Forum)
I'm looking at buying a 3 yr old diesel, probably a 1.9TDi Audi or 525d BMW with circa 30,000 to 40,000 miles on the clock. Apart from Climate Control I'm relaxed about spec. and intend to keep it for 2 - 3 yrs. I do about 25k per annum. Any thoughts on the conparison between running costs -
AX diesel accelerator sticks 9 Jun 2002 (Forum)
need to slow down! Blipping the accelerator always seems to sort the problem out - but then it's the last thing the wife thinks of doing when the car's trying to run away into the car in front. -
First Oil Change 15 Oct 2001 (Forum)
I've just run a new Toyota Celica 190 and am wondering when to change the oil The dealer / manual say 10k miles but surely its better for the car to do it before then ( say after 2-3k ?) The reason being as the oil coats the pistons it will get tiny slivers of metal within it which are residual -
Leaking Volvo 29 Sep 2001 (Forum)
My colleague runs a Volvo 340 G Reg with 130,000 on the clock. He is having considerable problems with a leaking cooling system which a main Volvo dealer has been trying to resolve over 2 months - so far unsuccessfully. They have various ideas as to what may be wrong including a cracked cylinder -
Rover 820 injector question 17 Sep 2001 (Forum)
A mate runs a Rover 820 as part of his "bangernomics" philosophy but has become attached to the car. It has just failed it's MOT on emissions and was told it needs new injectors (multipoint system?) at a cost of £800, obviously out of the question to him. It's a 91 model with "only" 80k and he'd -
Stalling Golf Mk 3 10 Sep 2001 (Forum)
Hi, Mk3 Golf 1.8 Auto 1992/93 with Bosch single Point injection. Starts OK from cold but then splutters and stalls. It'll restart OK and runs fine when warm. Had the coolant temperature sender unit replaced but still not fixed. My mechanic cannot fix it and suggest VAG dealers who have -

Grade of Petrol 20 Nov 2000 (Forum)
I've got a 2.0 Focus ESP and am slightly disappointed with the fuel consumption - I get 28 mpg on my daily commute, 32 mpg on a long run. I do have a heavy right foot though! I was wondering if I switched to 97 octane from the 95 I cuurently use if I would get better mpg and performance.. Ford -

Citroen C Crosser 2.2 HDi (currently) - replacing a diesel SUV ? with what? 2 Aug 2017 (Forum)
university runs (about to start again with younger ones going up), still gets regular use of the small folding 6/7 seats because although all grown up we still like to do things as a family age range 16 - 25), and its better than taking 2 cars despite the compactness, I could go on... suffice to say -

Vauxhall Astra F (1991 - 1998) - 96 1.7 Diesel. Wierd fault: fuel stop / cut off so 28 Nov 2009 (Forum)
a diesel (obviously letting the glowplug light go out before turning the key). So I immediately switched it off (so I could try it again) but it carried on running! If you start the engine and then turn the key off again within a few seconds, it carries on idling. If you then leave it switched off -
Running a BMW.. 29 Nov 2005 (Forum)
prefer the E39 in terms of... everything, but the performance of the 3 is tempting. Evo clocked a 330i @ 5.9 seconds to 60. But a 3 is only acceptable as a facelift Sport. What am I to expect in terms of running costs? Is there a reputation for unreliability or will a BMW will be a largely trouble free
