Mercedes Benz C-Class W203 (2000 - 2007) - Mercedes C-class 'rattly' suspension 30 Dec 2007 (Forum)
(or even touch) the brakes. I've had it 'checked' in 2 independent garages (the last franchise dealer service highlighted their inadequacy so haven't returned to them) who found nothing except for wheel bearing adjustment for that wheel. In fact, one dealer couldn't really hear it to any degree -
Would you stop for anyone these days? 27 Dec 2007 (Forum)
the brakes on after those last incidents which followed on from each other and now won`t stop for anyone unless its the immediate neighbors. -
That's one less thanks to me. 8 Dec 2007 (Forum)
. The driver was reported as having 161 mltrs of alcohol in his blood 5 times the legal limit and had previously been banned for drink driving. What surprises me was that although I witnessed him nearly collide with 3 cars and other cars had to brake when they seen him swerving all over the place, it appears -
Mist & Thick Tailgaters 28 Nov 2007 (Forum)
was when I met up with a dozen or so Mallard ducks crossing the road, walking as they do, in single file. I imagine that they would be nice to eat, but I could imagine chewing raw flesh, feathers and bits of windscreen at 40 mph. I braked quite sharply to avoid them and then left the following two cars -
Motorway drivers 13 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I went down to London this weekend. Drove down Saturday night from Manchester at about 7:30pm and had a lovely journey, with the cruise control set on about 74mph. It was a very relaxing drive, with almost no need to touch brake pedal or even accelerator, until I got to Luton for the contraflow -
Ford Fiesta Mk 4 Diesel Clutch probs 25 Jul 2007 (Forum)
to get out of a parking space in reverse!) unless I turn off the engine, put the hand brake on and flick the pedal all the way back up with my foot. Bizarrely it keeps "fixing" itself, working fine for days then doing it again. Obviously there is something going wrong somewhere. Checked the fluid which -

I just had a cold call from AA warranties tonight and for the first time ever, have actually bought one. The gist of the policy is that it covers everything except:- Brakes Tyres Windscreen Exhaust All of the electrics, engine components and other greasy bits are covered. The cost is £21 per -
Mondeo TDCi - Uneven power delivery. 12 Jun 2007 (Forum)
but now it will happily pull till 2800RPM and then it feels like i have my foot on the brake. Other times it lets me accelerate to over 100mph (on a private test road) but them when i get past 100 the power is lost again. I notice if i press the accelerator very lightly i can sometimes tease the car -

greetings all, had a friend of mine pop into the workshop today to ask me for some advice. he said the front end of his type R was squelling under braking. straight away i noticed the discs were starting to score so as a looked through the wheel i noticed there was no material -
Handbrake Calamity 21 May 2007 (Forum)
was only about 5 feet but the force exerted was evidently considerable owing to the gradient. My question is this. The handbrake was on (most definitely, checked when I got in the car to reverse it back up the drive) but I had not put the car in gear. It is possible that the brake was not pulled right up -
Farewell faithful VW 13 Apr 2007 (Forum)
adventures over the years, and at yesterdays MOT it only needed new pads and brake pipes. On a long test drive today ...it ran smooth as silk, incorporating furniture removal for a friend...no point in wasting diesel, and over the years returned a consistent 30/35 mpg with absolutely no oil needed between -

Slip road halters. 4 Jan 2007 (Forum)
joining the A48 near Cardiff. Following a MB down the sliproad, nice and quiet, she got to the point where I thought she would merge and she just hit the brakes, stopped and I ended up overtaking her whilst she sat waiting for non existent traffic to pass. All three showed total lack of understanding -

Service interval - Ford Mondeo 22 Sep 2006 (Forum)
that would get done nearer 2 years/25,000 miles (e.g. change brake fluid). I will ask at the dealers next time I'm passing, but it just came to me and I was just wondering what backroomers' views/thoughts were on this. Would it invalidate the 2nd & 3rd years warranty if I left it till September ? .....Keith -
Motorbikes & Headlights 8 Aug 2006 (Forum)
into a wood and shade. Look left, look right, look left again, look right again, nothing visible, and pull out. And suddenly 10 feet from my nearside is a motorbike approaching far too rapidly. Fortunately, he had good brakes and I had good acceleration so there was no contact. He did make a series -
Tyre repairs 3 May 2006 (Forum)
with reduced braking etc or carrying on with the nail at 50mph though with normal handling intact. Decided on the latter ......." That tyre was well worn so I had it replaced with a 50% worn tyre that I had in the garage after having two new fronts fitted 6 months ago following damage to one. Sunday -

Even without the tyres he said it was going to cost £591. Now I am not daft I expected to pay £100 to £200 on top of the £199 quoted for parts etc -
Surprising Focus 4 Mar 2006 (Forum)
and not much in the ride. Brakes much sharper in Megane. Gear change a bit more notchy than Focus. But more than anything that impressed me was how much cars have come on in the last few years. Megane and Focus are just ordinary hatches but compared to the Escort and previous Megane, are light years ahead
