Used car buying advice - trader working from home 16 Nov 2021 (Forum)
deal in the world the price offered aligns with valuations from HPI/Parkers. I'm just a little cautious about his setup selling from his drive (although also sympathetic since I am also work for myself from home!). -
Windscreen replacement on a modern car 15 Jan 2019 (Forum)
target. Where it gets a bit murky though, is that for this method to work properly, apparently the tyre pressures and wheel alignment need to be spot on, and the car needs to be on a smooth flat and level surface. Could be tricky to do this on your drive then?. May not be a huge issue to forum -
Nissan Juke 2015 - Heads up for Nissan Juke owners 2 Oct 2017 (Forum)
and all supplies of parts have been used, and no one knows when Nissan will get any more. Cant use ebay (none there anyway) or scrapyard due to warranty, but the problem is caused by either poor routing/alignment of pipes or the lack of a rubber spacer between the pipes costing pence. It's -
Ford Focus - Seeking tyre recommendations please! 18 May 2011 (Forum)
. As it's expensive to buy 4 tyres fully-fitted, I would be grateful for your input about your experiences with these and any other tyres. Which of the Continentals would you buy, if any, or what else do you suggest? Plus is it worth buying wheel alignment? Also, I -
Focus TDCi - New set of alloys at 35K - road humps to blame? 17 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I've just got my car back after a week at the main dealer. (Was given a BMW 116 courtesy car, so every cloud...) After a recent tyre change I'd noticed a lot of vibration from the steering. Two visits to the tyre place failed to solve the problem, which turned out to be not wheel alignment -
Servicing: mileage or time? 26 Oct 2007 (Forum)
it serviced again 12,000 miles after the last time? Or should I try to re-align it with the 12,000-mile intervals buyers may look for when I sell it? If it makes a difference, the extra miles are mostly gentle motorway driving - so gentle that I'm now getting 49mpg instead of the previous average of 42 -
Front lower arm replacement 9 Oct 2001 (Forum)
with a crunch. The tyre bod who checked the tracking and steering couldnt believe I had got away without much damage when he checked the alignment. In truth I did not get away with it but neither he nor all his colleagues spotted it. I am of course talking about the suspension arm, which they said seemed fine -

Avensis T27 1.8 Estate - Problem fitting new ball joints 22 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Apologies in advance, as this may be convoluted.... It's mot time and the car needed new ball-joints on both sides. Bought them and fitted them today...which went fine, only to find that when the car was lowered from the jack, the wheels were well out of alignment (pointing opposite ways -
Jaguar XJ - Michelin Super Sport Vs PS3 and fitting error.... 16 Jan 2016 (Forum)
, and they offered to do a 4-wheel alignment for my trouble. However, I have just noticed that they have fitted Pilot Super Sports to the rear, and I assume that they will be fitting PS3s to the front. Is this a problem? I like to find a balance between wear and performance. Do I need to have PS3s all -
Seat leon - Engine cutting out 26 Apr 2013 (Forum)
as they said there was nothing wrong with it, it was actually out of alignment which caused the engine to cut out whilst driving. This is very scary and after several months of the car spending more time with them than with me they swopped it for another, same make, model and age. I was really pleased -
MOT Failures 27 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Evening all, My car had its MOT today and failed on tyre with damage to side wall (although when I got it changed for part worn the guy couldn't believe they would fail it for that!) and also for head light alignment. As they hadn't called me, I went down to ask how -

Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - 01 1.8 New Clutch behaving badly...? 5 Apr 2009 (Forum)
or two. Does any of this ring any specific alarm bells for anyone? It leaves me wondering if something is ever so slightly off alignment and the intermittent knock is something like a shaft working it's way slightly out of place and then dropping back in. Of course, I know almost nothing about clutches -

Audi 80 Cabriolet 2.6e - A few problems! 28 Feb 2005 (Forum)
? Again, all the fuses are intact. 4)The steering wheel is not quite straight when going straight ahead - about 5 degrees off. Is this just a simple wheel alignment? 5) Finally the when you press the Air Con button the compressor pulley doesn't begin to turn as it should - it is too cold to feel if it's -
Advice Please - Focus All Over The Place 5 Aug 2004 (Forum)
(all of them) and the steering wheel aligned. Now - I've noticed that at 70ish, if you take your hands off the wheel (not completely off as that would be dangerous ;-) - just loosen the grip slightly) there is quite a bit of shake. The second problem is that at slower speeds the steering wheel seems -
Micra - advice needed! 20 Oct 2003 (Forum)
one tyre for the spare - fair enough, but I've taken it back to be re-aligned twice and the car still vibrates at over 60mph. This hasn't happened before. They tried to charge me for multiple unnecessary jobs - including £4 for air freshener. I'd had the car looked at briefly beforehand by an off -
