Any - Electronic parking brake - Why? 5 Dec 2010 (Forum)
it not far off £1,000 to repair a parking brake (handbrake) and it is mandatory as it is an MOT fail item. This will probably lead to perfectly serviceable cars of about 7+ years old being written off due to parking brake failure in the future because of the cost to repair. I know they don't -
Kangaroo cars 14 Feb 2010 (Forum)
surge. I took the car back several times only to have the lead mechanic perform a diagnostic test and say with transparent honesty and hand on heart that there was nothing wrong and it was the way that I was driving. After a particularly dangerous situation I spent time examining the engine and found -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.6 Misfire - advice needed! 11 Sep 2008 (Forum)
/the computer diagnosed a misfire on the number 3 cylinder which he said could be down to the spark plugs and plug leads needing to be replaced or the coil pack. disappeared. The filter was last changed 6k ago. The problem was that the left side of the filter seemed to be soaked with engine oil. SAAB (mostly) cold starting problem 4 Jan 2005 (Forum)
the battery and plugs checked and the HT leads and distributor cap changed with no success. I've suggested they get the coil and lead changed which they are doing this week but this is clutching at straws. Also I've checked the fuel pump is working. Oh, and they had the oil changed within the last 6 months -
Focus Hesitation 3 Sep 2003 (Forum)
was either plugs, leads or the coil. I do not thing it is leads as in my experience they normally affect one cylinder and in fact it feels a bit like fuel starvation, however the fact that new plugs appeared to make a difference makes me wonder if it is electrical. (coil low on output perhaps?). Any -
What's the Silliest Thing ... ? 6 Mar 2002 (Forum)
with the sidelights on (it used to be a legal requirement to show a light when parked on the road during hours of darkness) so I moved it onto the driveway and put the battery on charge overnight. This entailed lodging the battery charger under the bonnet, which I closed for security, and trailing a lead to a power -
M 11 Money-earner 7 Jun 2001 (Forum)
. The road is straight but leads into a shallow bend a little further on which is safe for 70 mph+. Now, if the camera is set with the customary 10 mph margin, the assumption is that 2,000 vehicles are going along that stretch at 60 mph+. Which leads to the assunption that if that speed is unsafe -
