  Do these have to be done by the dealer or is it OK to take to your local guy. I am facing about a £60 bill off my Toyota dealer for this indugence. Can there be any comeback wrt the 3yr warranty if a genuine toyota filter and the correct spec oil are used??

  I've got a '93 Saab 9000CSE which has done 104,000 on a standard service schedule. I may also be getting a VW Polo 1.0 which has done around 70,000 on similar servicing. Both will be run into the ground-is it worth, at this stage in their lives, starting six monthly oil and filter services?

  , tyres whatever while waiting but if you put the plug back in after 10 minutes there'll be at least 1/2 litre of old oil still in there. and to top it all, if it's true for me then it's true for all the opel/vx mechanics as well when they do an oil change - mmm, sounds like the customer's paying

  I have changed from mineral to semi sythetic on our H reg corolla 2e engine. Now have lots blue smoke from the exhaust. Any thoughts? garage has said valve stem seals are too old to cope with chemical change and need replacing. Did I do wrong? Thanks

  Hi, My Peugeot just failed it's MOT Smoke Test, the reading was 2.07m-1, and I think the max limit it 1.5m-1. KwikFit advised that an oil and filter change, with some additived should resolve. Are they being honest? I last changed the oil and all filters approx 2 years ago

  Simple question, where is the oil sump on the MK 5 Polo? Did the change on 1.9 mk 3 Golf, 1.0l mk 4 (early) polo, then came to do the 1.9sdi mk5 polo and got stuck! Any ideas where it is? Im thinking it is under the cover under the car, but dont want to removed it and check- its a little wet out

  i have a astra 1.6 16v 2000 model at present on 61.000mls i have never dropped the gear oil , how often should it be changed, when the clutch needs replacing? or every 3 years? im interested to know it looks simple enough there's a plate under the box with 6-8 bolts in do you drop it here? please

  I had an oil change recently on my BMW diesel,I used Mobil 1 semi synthetic as per past thread recommendations the oil went black quite quickly.Is this usual?
