Passat Recall 6 Oct 2003 (Forum)
My 52 Passat recently went in for a 20,000 mile service. While it was there they performed a modification required as a result of a product recall. What would this be? Had a letter through regarding the Mk IV Golf I got rid of last year requiring the braking system to be checked, but the letter -
range Rover and London bus indicators 1 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Has anyone noticed the new indicator and brake lights fitted to Range Rovers and London buses. They are so instantaneous and suddenly bright that you don't notice them. The more normal bulbs with a filament are much easier to see. Another triumph of form over substance? -

Need to get the brake carrier off to change rear discs (Mk2 Gti). Will an 8mm allen key do the trick/it is actually a 7mm/will I need a socket drive because a key isn\'t up to it? Thanks in advance Rob Fleming -
noise when reversing 6 Dec 2002 (Forum)
i have a 6 yr old Seat Toledo gt with 55k on the clock it makes a funny noise when I reverse.. a loud groaning type noise. I have assumed that it is either a sticking brake or a worn/ binding wheel bearing. I only get this noise when reversing. Any thoughts? -
Range Rover - 3 Spoke 18" Alloys 9 Jun 2002 (Forum)
Thinking of changing the supplied five 18" brake dust traps with these easier to keep clean jobbies. Anyone know where the best prices are likely to be? Dealer prices quoted were silly of course. Quite happy to look at reconditioned or light used. -
VW Bettle stop lights 27 Mar 2002 (Forum)
I hope I'm using this forum correctly. I need to replace one of the brake light bulbs in my 98 VW Beetle, but I cannot figure out how to remove the tail light unit. Can anyone offer me some advice or tips? TIA /\/\itch -
Car lighting 6 Dec 2001 (Forum)
I seem to be getting through brake light/headlight bulbs at an alarming rate these days. At one time they lasted forever. Do these things have a fixed hour burn thats got shorter to get us to buy more? Will 42 volt electrical systems improve bulb life? What about fibre optic technology? -
Mini Cooper D All 4 Countryman - Clutch replacement at 22,000 miles 15 Oct 2019 (Forum)
I took it in for a brake fluid service (£97.00!!!) the service manager said that I need a new clutch!!!! He blamed driver 'error' or the fact that I live in a hilly area - I told him that I'd not needed a new clutch since 1968, so it was unlikely to be my error. I took the car to two -
Peugeot 206 CC (2000 - 2007) - 01 1.6 head gasket repair quotes 24 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I'm hoping someone can advise me a little on this so that I can decide whether the quote I have received is fair and all the work necessary. I took my car to the garage on Saturday as there was a kind of hissing noise coming from the passenger footwell when I was using the brake and clutch -
Pug 406 - Exactly how bad are they? 22 Nov 2004 (Forum)
more to hoses?) * Rear discs & parking brake trouble after 3 years: From my reading here in the backroom, this seems to be that the parking brake dies if you stop on it, and also seen that discs warp (specifically if you hold the car on the foot brake when it's hot?). Is this a significant issue -
VW Polo 2018 95 PS - Front bumper replacement 1 Apr 2024 (Forum)
an oil leak without charge. I had seen some oil on my drive, so that was kosher. And a year back the VW garage said the rear brakes needed replacing, he took it in, didn’t change them, said they had more than 50% left. He just did the front brakes. The VW garage often claims work is needed when -

N/A - Tesla autopilot 28 Apr 2018 (Forum)
this is beyond me. Unproven tech in motor vehicles is going to cost innocent victims their lives. We have radar cruise control, automatic braking and other so called safety sytems which give the drivers a false sense of security. The latest I observe is brake lights coming on for no apparent reason when -
Honda Civic 1.8 March 2013 - Honda civic rear calipers sticking 27 Oct 2017 (Forum)
of the caliper sticking. I bought Honda on the reputation of reliability, I am not too impressed at the moment. I have done approx 61,000 miles over 4 years; do not brake excessively and quite a careful driver.on the whole. I have just been quoted £435 for rear calipers and £120 -

Kia Sportage XS 1996 (50,000 miles) - Very bad vibration 29 Jan 2014 (Forum)
the exit roundabout. The gear change was still a bit stiff, but loosened up on the journey home, and seemed to be OK. I drove home well within the speed limits. Cruising towards (decelerating, no brakes) the Amesbury roundabout on the A303 a terrible vibration started from the rear -
fiesta mk4 diesel - Front end rattle 17 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Well I really thought I'd found the source of the rattling but it's still happening. All the plastic air inlet stuff is nicely secured now so i can forget that. Nor is it brake pads as the noise still continues when braking. The rattling starts up after I've done about twenty miles -
Toyota Avensis (2003 - 2008) - Dishonest seller 9 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I recently bought a Toyota Avensis from Toyota dealer, 2 hours drive from home a 58 registration. Within 10 days, I realised some noise on braking, though it has done only 8200 miles on the clock (I did 500 miles). Took to local toyota dealer who changed both rear brake discs saying very damaged
