  • Are you at the leading or trailing edge? gadgets 29 Jul 2010 (Forum)
    - if you get a buzz out of brand new tech, then great. Ever noticed though that you can`t `make` yourself change with this. You`re either a `trailing edge` or `leading edge` person and stuck with it ;-) Regards oilrag
  • Megane - what's happening 1 Jan 2003 (Forum)
has the original HT leads - which I have now sprayed with WD 40. Although its bucketing down, the engine is bone dry and the HT leads seem in good condition despite being almost 5 years old. I have to say that the HT leans don't seem that tight a fit on the top of the plugs - they pop into place
  • Petrol problems 2 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I have always been lead to believe petrol sold at JET stations was lower octane than others due to the fact it is reclaimed from the over run at the refineries

http://www.revetec.com/website/index.html Fascinating stuff I thought. The bit about the engine design leading to more mid and rear engined cars sounded appealing too :-) teabelly

  • Apologies for Backroom outage 31 Jan 2004 (Forum)
It seems somebody tripped over a lead or the cleaners unplugged something they shouldn\'t have in order to use the hoover. Service now resumed as normal. No Dosh mailto:Alan_moderator@honestjohn.co.uk
  • Interactive speed signs 13 Aug 2003 (Forum)
When these flash up the limit, they are just warnings right? They don't actually lead to a fine like a camera do they? It's just I passed through about 5 today...

and flowers, the customer pays for these through higher prices. As you don't like the way Tesla (both dealer and manufacturer) have treated you, I would definitely look at a different brand of car. Plenty of other makes and dealers out there. Think most factory order lead times are around 3 months, so I
  • Ford Focus - Rough idle on petrol focus 18 Mar 2012 (Forum)
. Spark plug leads and coil pack appear in good condition but I wouldn't know how to check them. I believe they are the original items - car mileage is 115k. I'm tempted to change the plug leads - is this the likely problem?
  • Renault Clio 1 Diesel (1991 - 1998) - 92 1.9 Battery reversal damage 2 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Did a really stupid thing in trying to jump start this car from another whose engine was running. I attached the jump leads in the wrong sense on the Clio and didn't realise until the leads got hot. After this the Clio won't start ! There is now a near short on the chubbyish cable which runs from
  • Daewoo nexia poor running 16 Mar 2007 (Forum)
It idles and runs on 3 cylinders, removing No.1 spark plug lead makes very little difference, (other 3 significant difference). Removing all plugs 3 white & clean, No.1 a coppery colour but otherwise clean. Compression is 12bar on all cylinders No.1 has a good spark, and changing the lead did
  • factors affecting suspension bush wear 17 Jun 2006 (Forum)
After about 18,000 miles, I'm told that the bushes on my Ford Ka are sufficiently worn to need replacing. That got me wondering about what factors would have lead to them being so well worn at this stage. 1)Obviously, the roads that one drives over will make a big difference. 2) The quality
  • 1995 1.3SPi Mini won't start! 12 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Hi, I have a 1995 SPi Rover Mini Cooper, and she has somehow decided that she doesn't want to start. The battery is fully charged, it turns over but won't fire up. Have used a voltmeter to check that the full 12v is going to the coil. For some reason, there are no sparks coming from the HT lead
  • Golf MkIV - Cuts out when engine is hot 6 Oct 2005 (Forum)
in traffic for a while. Now initially it was misfiring, so I replaced the plugs, HT leads and this weekend the ignition coil. It now runs a lot cleaner but this problem still exists... I am reluctant to go to the VW dealer (wanted 90 quid to change the leads!) - so I am wondering if anyone else has come
  • Basic Service - Skoda Favorit GLXie 3 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I want to do a "basics" service on my Skoda Favorit (1995 GLXie), hopefully so it runs a bit better (is not too bad) and better fuel economy etc. I'm planning to do: (1) Oil and filter (hasn't been done for a year/10000miles) (2) Spark plugs, Ignition leads, distributor cap and rotor arm (never
  • Punto rear speaker wiring 16 Apr 2005 (Forum)
an eight-connection socket, but is only wired for front speakers. It just has holes where the other leads should go. (I have two rear speakers to fit and wire.) Any suggestions for the best way to 'break in' to the connection to enable the rear speakers to be connected? Can the missing connections be put
  • People, dogs and the countryside 8 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Bringing my chirldren back from a horseriding lesson the other day, Whilst travelling along a narrow country road at about 15mph I came across 3 labrador sized dogs. Although the dogs were very friendly they were off a lead and were a bit of a nuicance to me and other traffic. Either side of me
