  • Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - Insurance Scam? 17 Dec 2007 (Forum)
t provide details of the claimant because of the Data Protection Act and neither did the claimant report it to the police. Several questions spring to mind: 1. Is this a well known scam - have a crash, choose a reg number at random, produce a so called independent witness and hey presto you have your car repaired. 2. Can they get details of your insurance company just by the reg number.

  • Suzuki Vitara - Buying a car off gumtree - am I being scammed? 15 Jul 2024 (Forum)
This process is getting dubious and a simple request for a test drive gets ignored, instead I'm getting put in touch with an auction house, for privilege to sign-up for a "free" 7-day membership. Can I just ask if this is a scam, or a business-as-usual way selling a car these days? Have I perhaps missed any red flags early on this process?
