One problem too many.

The previous Touran at just over 3 years old and 50,000 miles went back to the VW dealers with a clean bill of health, it had no problems at all (see previous comments).
Collected the new one on a wet Saturday afternoon with 16 miles showing. Drove out on to the dual-carriageway and it immediately became obvious that a noise was present that should not be there. No point in going back on a Saturday, rang on Monday. "What sort of noise?" "Well, if it was a second-hand car I would say a wheel bearing"
Took the car in by appointment and a rear wheel bearing was changed and the noise disappeared.
Two points (a) this involved me in a 50 round trip and (b) why wasn't this picked up on the P.D.I?
Also it is not as economical as the previous Touran, but it is early days.
