Volkswagen Touareg (2010 - 2018)

3.0 TDI V6 262ps R-Line BlueMotion Technology 5dr SUV
Awesome on a totally different level !
Well, I bought a large SUV to carry 4 adults in comfort and I wasnt disapointed.
Having owned the car for just over 6 months, and having covered just over 12000 miles, the car still brings a smile to my face whenever I drive it.
The 262 V6 is effortless accelerating and cruising at motorwar speeds, and certainly has a presence on the road. Over easter 2019, I covered 2200 miles through Scotland, and travelled up from Southampton. The Touareg has the power and acceleration to easily pass HGV's on the uphill streches, through the scottish mountains, and has the sure footedness when the road surface is less than perfect.
All around vision is great, and the panoramic sun roof that opens add an excellent amount of light into the cabin.
Total average of mixed driving, I saw 30mpg, but the driving style was "spriited!".
Since then, weve been across the south coast in a variety of weather and the car has never felt anything other than solid and safe.
The only downside was having to replace the front and rear brake discs and pads due to both fronts being warped, and the nearside caliper being siezed. From a dealer, the cost was quoted at over £1200, but there are plenty of independant garages, more than capable of performing the work (which takes around 2-3 hours) for 1/3 of the price.
Tyres from new were Pirelli scorpion Verde,, but Ill probably change these to BFG AT3's when they need changing, as the forums seem to suggest that these are a better all round tyre with a more agressive tread patterm
