Lovely to drive...once you've bounced away! Avoid the 1.5 engine!

I spent months selecting a replacement for my trusty Fabia and fell upon the T-Roc. Not long after placing the order I became aware of the issues blighting the 1.5 engine and was reassured that this wasn't something the dealer knew of. Having taken receipt of the vehicle, the dreaded kangaroo made itself known and I have had to reject the vehicle.
It's a real shame, because once you get out of 2nd gear and above 15mph, it's a beautiful car to drive, it's comfortable and has a turn of speed and acceleration that I've been really happy with...but I have no confidence in it when pulling away at junctions and roundabouts, and this issue is apparently worse in colder weather.
Would I recommend the car? Yes, in any other engine but the 1.5 petrol.
