Volkswagen T-Roc (2018 on)
2.0 TDI 150ps SEL 4Motion 5dr
Disappointing, painful, as inspired and insepid as an Astra
I wouldn’t wish this car on my worst enemy. We currently have one as a hire car replacement whilst our Rav 4 is being fixed under warranty.
I don’t know who designed this car; or indeed if anybody designed this car, but it is apalling, and I don’t quite understand why the motoring press seem to rate it 4/5 and don’t find the most basic obvious issues with it.
1) Seats - I’ve sat on more comfortable street furniture. Seats are rock hard, the back angle is still adjusted by dial, there is no comfortable position that can be found
2) Why is the boot release button just randomly plonked by the drivers right knee?
3) Lights - full beam fine. Not full beam I’d be scared to go above 30 the light cuts off so close to the car
4) Car assist systems are utter r******! So far in the 4 days we have had the car. It has randomly jammed the anchors on, if you go down any road narrower than a motorway and there’s something coming in the opposite direction it beeps at you like a madman, this evening it even told me “oncoming car” on a completely empty road!!!
5) That infotainment system is appallingly bad. It shouldn’t take ten minutes of pushing buttons and needing to consult a YouTube video to work out how to add a postcode in to the sat nav.
The Haldex 4wd is skittish, and it’s just really poorly executed.
